2026: the discless Series X costs $749.99 now, memory is expensive
Xbox raised console prices again worldwide in June 2026
The market's verdict: +5.2% on MSFT in the week after.
What actually happened
On June 25, 2026, Microsoft raised console prices worldwide for the third consecutive year: one hundred dollars more for 512GB machines, one hundred and fifty more for 1TB models, taking the discless Series X to $749.99, the disc version to $799.99, and quietly retiring the 2TB model, blaming memory and storage component prices that had more than doubled. For perspective, the Series X launched at $499.99. Microsoft's accompanying suggestion was buy now, pay later financing. A console line that began as the value proposition of its generation is ending as a payment plan.
This one is officially acknowledged.
They did it more than once
The hikes became seasonal. A $499 console, now $799.
